Military cooperation between France and Gabon

Last Friday in Libreville, France’s Defense Minister Dominique Renaux and his Gabonese counterpart Ernest Mpouho signed a military cooperation agreement on the improvement of Gabon army’s operational capacity, unveiled a communiqué from the French Embassy to Gabon.

The agreement is mainly about combat units in land unit army through a training and preparation checkup center to be located in Mokekou Mont by the Lopé, in the center of Gabon.

According to the communiqué, the unit army will take a 19 days’ training on shooting techniques as well as control operational capacity. The first tour is scheduled for June 2016 while from 2017 they will start a peace maintaining operation program.
