French court charges Pierre Pean for defamation
Writer and journalist Pierre Péan was charged for defamation to French courts, after Gabon’s Presdient sued him for contained accusations in his book "New African Affairs".
This is a first step welcomed by Libreville: the french journalist and writer Pierre Péan has been indicted in a defamation case by the French courts.
On April 9th, the author of "new African Affairs" was summoned along with Sophie de Closets, Fayard Publisher Director, his publisher.
The investigating is conducted by judge Nathalie Turquey which notified the two indictees. said Delphine Meillet, lawyer of the Gabonese president Ali Bongo Ondimba.
