SGTPB pays 5 million to Nkang villagers

The wood processing company SGPTB gave last Tuesday to Nkang village inhabitants a check worth 5. 316. 676 FCFA, as part of the wood exploitation.

This is the first revenue from the agreement signed between the village Nkang and the SGPTB company. The contract stipulates that the company has to give to the village inhabitants 40% of the revenues of 2973 hectares of forests.

According to SGPTB CEO Emmanuel Nkoulou, this payment result from the first wood haulage of 683 m3. Doing this, his company honored the main clause of the communitarian forest.

For his parts, Water and Forests provincial director Joseph Landry Nkeyi Rebonguinaud urged the granted villagers to invest this money in profitable activities for the whole community.
