Gabon works on boosting wood economy

Gabon’s capital, Libreville hosts since yesterday a meeting on the mechanism of validation of the APV-FLEGT process in central Africa. The meeting gathered FLEGT regional members and the CEAC information communication experts to discuss the new tool for promoting the wood sector.

The meeting is part of the marketing and promotion campaign of the wood economy as well as its governance. Its main objective is the integration of a new tool in the production and the distribution of strategic information for the wood industry.

The two day’s workshop will help the expert to get accustomed with the use of accounts cell FLEGT, for example; sending of dispatches, Android apps installation, navigation test and reaction on the forum, the validation of the technical tools and information sharing mechanism in order to build a viable strategy for the improvement of the visibility of the activities of the FLEGT.
